Celebrate Healthy Kids Day at Sage YMCA on April 30th

Since kids are less likely to be physically active and engaged in learning during the summer, research shows that children gain weight two to three times faster than during the school year, and often fall behind academically because they don’t have access to out-of-school learning opportunities.

With that in mind, on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Sage YMCA is hosting a variety of family-friendly activities for the YMCA’s 25th annual Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. Healthy Kids Day® is a powerful reminder not to let children idle away their summer days, but instead focus on physical and mental play.

Activities at the Sage YMCA will include the Jumping Jack Challenge (help us reach 1.5 million!). To see what’s happening at other YMCA of Metro Chicago centers near you, head to the Metro site for details.
