Free Job Search Seminar

The McHenry County Workforce Network offers FREE seminars and services for job seekers. Resume / Portfolio / Interview Seminar is on Tuesday, December 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m at 500 Russel Court in Woodstock. Learn what information belongs in your resume and what you should leave out. Topics include a discussion of the chronological and functional resume, cover letter writing, and how to email a resume.  Preparing a resume for email will also be discussed. Learn how to develop a portfolio, what items to include and how to use one in an interview. Bring resume to tweak.  Learn the fundamentals of interview preparation and how to make the best impression. Subject will look at researching companies and salaries, dressing for interview, body language, typical interview questions, salary negotiation and following up after the interview.
